Core Team
The main vision and mission of this club is to empower, inspire and motivate more girls and women in the field of Science & Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in Nepal. According to UNESCO, only 7.8% of Women are working in the field of STEM in Nepal. The reasons behind this wide gender gap could be due to the lack of female-friendly national policies, gender stereotypes, various social norms, fewer female role models in the STEM field, and a lack of networking and capacity-building activities.
Raising the voice against this gender disparity in the STEM field and sensitizing policymakers/politicians will be also our agenda.
Women in STEM Club, Nepal will be the platform for networking, mentoring, and supporting to develop leadership skills.
We have a core team of 13 members representing various fields of STEM.
The main interesting thing about this Women In STEM club, Nepal is we have a representation from all the seven provinces of Nepal.
Besides this, we have a representation of dynamic and inspirational Nepalese female researchers who are currently working in different parts of the world in the STEM field.
Let’s Encourage/Inspire/Promote more Girls/Women in STEM !!
